TSAP 2021 Annual Conference

Spirituality: From Individual to Community

Description of the Concept of Seminars “Spirituality: From Individual to Community”
According to individual psychology, spirituality is defined as the conscious pursuit of life’s wholeness. This is not characterized by self-alienation or self-absorption, but rather by self-transcendence—an ongoing effort to strive toward one’s core values.

Everyone desires a smooth and fulfilling life, yet the saying, ‘Nine out of ten things in life don’t go as hoped,’ reminds us that we will inevitably face challenges and hardships. How these experiences shape an individual largely depends on their personal beliefs and lifestyle. The way one perceives difficulties and pain plays a crucial role. Whether a person chooses to confront or avoid life’s challenges, and ultimately acts out of self-interest or with social responsibility, hinges on maintaining a healthy mind, body, and spirit.

Courage is the driving force of life, the strength to uphold self-affirmation in the face of adversity. It is the healing courage that enables individuals to transcend suffering, overcoming trauma and pain, and ultimately moving toward profound healing. Even in moments of hardship or misfortune, one must strive to achieve harmony with oneself, others, and the universe.
The TSAP cordially invites both domestic and international members to join us at the 2021 Annual Conference, where we will explore the theme of spirituality from the individual level to humanity as a whole. We are honored to welcome Adlerian psychologists from Taiwan and abroad to delve into spiritual perspectives, facilitating dialogues between the teachings of Jung in the West and Chuang Tzu in the East. Together, we will examine Adlerian social interest and the ultimate pursuit of “love” as reflected in both Eastern and Western spirituality and religious traditions.

Date: March 13, 2021 (Saturday) 09:00 – 17:00
